PENTA and fnatic have advanced to the playoffs at DreamHack Winter 2014 after wins over the North Americans of iBUYPOWER and Cloud9. In the first game, which decided who would advance to the playoffs from group B as the second seed behind dignitas, iBUYPOWER took on PENTA on de_inferno. The North Americas, led by strong performance by their star player Braxton "swag" Pierce had a dominant defensive half, where they racked a 13-2 lead, shutting PENTA down. However, they were outdone in the second half. iBP could not figure out the Germans' defense in the second half, and wound up losing 0-14 to be eliminated from DreamHack. DreamHack Winter 2014Best of 1 In group A the second spot came down between two teams who were defeated by HellRaisers, the heavy favorites fnatic and the second North American team, Cloud9. Jesper "JW" Wecksell's two P2000 kills won fnatic the defensive pistol round on de_dust2, and Cloud9's two force buys weren't successful, thus allowing fnatic to build up their economy. fnatic then regained their godly counter-terrorist form, which is what has won them so many events in the fall after the additions of Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson. Cloud9 could only muster three terrorist side rounds as fnatic reigned supreme, led by the incredible performance of olofmeister, who hit thirty kills in the first sixteen rounds. Once again the North Americans went for forcebuys in the second half, but even a quad kill by Spencer "Hiko" Martin wasn't enough, as fnatic strolled to a convincing 16-3 win.
